If you are a smoker and interested in quitting, then you’ve come to the right place. Most ex-smokers attempt to quit an average of seven times before they actually succeeded. So if you’re feeling scared, or unsure, you are not alone! Cessation is not a one size fits all solution. That is why there are several different cessation options, from face to face counseling to texting. We are here to help you find what will work for YOU!
CESSATION OPTIONS
DAILY TEXT CHALLENGE
This program is a free and easy way to break smoking habits! Daily Challenges simple sends text messages that provide alternatives to smoking, convenient coping mechanisms, and online resources if you would like to learn more about the benefits of quitting. This program serves as a daily reminder for encouragement to continue on the journey to be smoke-free!
THIS IS QUITTING
This is Quitting is a free mobile program designed to help young people to quit vaping electronic cigarettes. By signing up, young people can receive text messages from other young people who have attempted to, or successfully quit e-cigarettes. Text messages of evidence-based tips and strategies to stop smoking will also be provided.
SMOKE-FREE APP
This app is a wonderful tool for someone who is
trying to quit. Having something like this on your
phone at all times is a good reminder that the
pros greatly outweigh the cons in regard to
quitting smoking. The app is easy to use and
could be very effective in helping someone quit.
QUIT CENTERS
Through funding from the New Jersey Department of Health, Office of Tobacco Free, Nutrition & Fitness, New Jersey residents now have access to 11 Quit Centers. These quit centers provide residents of New Jersey with the resources to stop or reduce their use of tobacco.
The 11 Quit Centers will service the following counties: Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland/Salem, Hudson, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth Ocean, Essex, Passaic and Union.
